- About
Sarah Wentworth (MFA Tufts/Museum School, BFA MassArt) is a Boston area artist who uses photography and other forms of documentation in performative, conceptual projects. Her work has been exhibited at the Mills Gallery, Trustman Gallery at Simmons College, Danforth Museum, Brattleboro Museum, The Curated Fridge and included in White Columns’ Artist Registry. She is best known for her Postcard Project: Surreptitious Installations, in which she appropriated the use of museum shops as exhibition space to humorously subvert the sequence of art marketing in the creation of artists’ reputations. In other projects, including Passport Pictures and Tourist Pictures, she used performed photos of herself as various personae, considering image and identity. More recently, her Fishline Creature series of performed photos have set a fictional mythology within the reality of oceanic plastic contamination.
